Seagrove Beach Real Estate
One of the first communities on Florida's Panhandle, Seagrove Beach was originally known as Russ's Hammock and was accessed by a small road from the small timber mill town of Point Washington. Scenic Highway 30-A was just a dirt road and ended at Seagrove, as the bridge over Western Lake hadn't been built. Grayton Beach had to be reached by boat. However, this didn't stop Seagrove Beach homes from being tenanted by generations of vacationers, who made regular trips out to the beach in the 1940s and '50s. Many of their descendents still inhabit this area or at least come back every year to homes and condos in Seagrove Beach.
Many of the older beach cottages have been modernized to take advantage of today's technology. There are also newer houses and estates lining the streets that are now covered with mature trees and shrubbery. Seagrove Beach condo developments are becoming more common as fans of the 30-A area discover its peaceful atmosphere. Despite the influx of modern development, Seagrove beach condos and homes still partake of the "Old Florida" atmosphere that the community is known for.
Seagrove Beach condos have taken off in popularity lately, as they offer maintenance-free real estate ownership. Ownership of a Seagrove Beach condo is also advantageous for the vacation crowd, as condos tend to be more secure and offer more opportunities for owner-shared amenities.
There is seldom a shortage of things to do and see. In addition to the white sand beaches and the sporting opportunities of the Gulf, Seagrove Beach adjoins Point Washington State Forest. The Seagrove Village Market Café, established in 1949, offers casual dining and shopping. The community of Seaside is just a short walk or bike away. Destin, Sandestin and Panama City Beach are only a few miles up or down 30-A.
For a peaceful place to live, Seagrove Beach condos and homes offer you the best in quiet streets and tranquil beach living. You also have the opportunity to explore the entire region from a central 'jumping-off' point. For year-round living, vacationing or real estate investment, Seagrove Beach is full of excellent real estate opportunities.
